When playing Halo 2 Multiplayer on Xbox Live or Splitscreen with some friends, no map pleases me more than the sandy beaches and stone structures of Zanzibar. But where did that funky name they gave the map come from?

Zanzibar Island

Twenty five miles off the African coast of Tanzania, lies the Island of Zanzibar. Surrounded by the Indian Ocean, it is famous for beautiful sandy beaches and an ancient stone city simply named - Stone Town. Sound familiar? This is just my guess, but I would say someone at Bungie knows of the location.
